We’re On The Road Again!…

It’s summertime once again in Perthshire and so we find ourselves out on the road visiting retail partners and meeting customers, old and new. We really enjoy getting a chance to speak with people, in some cases explaining what a Clootie Dumpling is, with others hearing how much they enjoy our Clootie Dumplings and learning some of the wonderful ways they eat them. We’ve got a few visits planned over the next few weeks and we’d love for you to come and say ‘hello’ to us if you can.

We’re staying local on the 4th and 5th of August as we’ll be at the Perth Agricultural Show, or The Perth Show as it’s better known, is a really popular event attracting visitors from all over. It takes place on the South Inch park in the centre of Perth and as well as livestock showing and judging, there are arts and crafts, children’s activities and of course some amazing food and drink. It’s a great day out.

Hot on the heels of that we’re travelling down to the scenic Clyde Valley in rural Lanarkshire for the day to visit Gouldings Garden Centre on Sunday August 6th. Gouldings is near Carluke, and it’s a great garden centre in a lovely part of the world. If you’re based in central Scotland we’d love to see you there.

Lastly we’re heading north again to visit our friends at The House of Bruar on August 19th. If you’ve never visited the House of Bruar you really should try and remedy that. It’s not only in one of the most picturesque parts of the country but it has an amazing food hall as well great shopping, we could lose ourselves for hours there! The House of Bruar is near Blair Atholl and is handily situated just off the A9 for those who have access to a car.

Lastly, the Yale Professor H.E. Luccock once said “No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.” and that’s something we agree with wholeheartedly. So we were over the moon to discover we’ve been shortlisted for ‘Employer of the Year’ at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards. Win or not, we’re delighted to even be considered for this and it’s a great tribute to all the team here at Clootie McToot. In other lovely news, our Apple, Pear & Cinnamon Clootie Dumpling has also been shortlisted for the ‘Bakery Product of the Year’, so wish us luck with that too.

We hope you’re all enjoying your summer as much as we are and please, if you’re in the area do come and say hello to us.

Before we forget, after a break over the last wee while, I’m delighted to say that our Clootie McToot workshops are back!
