One of the things we love most about summer is getting back out and about meeting people again. We’re extremely fortunate at Clootie McToot that so many of you come and visit us here in Abernethy. It’s wonderful when people introduce themselves or tell us their plans for our dumplings, people travel from near and far and these interactions are a big part of what makes Clootie McToot so special.
So it’s particularly pleasing that some of us are heading out to meet people in different locations this summer. The pandemic stopped so many local shows and fairs and it’s true what they say ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone’.
Saturday the 4th of June will see us at the Taste of Grampian, it’s being held at the P&J Live arena in Aberdeen. We’ll have a couple of stands at this event as it’s always been really popular in the past.
Then on June 18th & 19th we’ll be in Lauder in the Scottish Borders, at Thirlestane Castle to be precise, for the Sir Jackie Stewart Classic. This is not only a chance to see, sample and buy some of the best food and drink around it’s also an amazing opportunity to see some of the amazing cars in Sir Jackie Stewart’s private collection.
Lastly the Scottish Game Fair is, for many people, one of the highlights of the summer. We’ll be exhibiting there from the 1st to the 3rd July at the picturesque Scone Palace. The Game Fair is an event that brings people from far and wide and if you’re thinking of visiting Perthshire this summer you could do a lot worse than have your visit coincide with it.
As well as our selection of Clootie Dumplings we might bring along some of our new range of shortbread too. We’ve three sumptuous new flavours; Lemon, Ginger & Toffee to complement our traditional shortbread. These are all made to a traditional recipe and are being eagerly awaited by the team here!
Lastly we’re delighted to be releasing Clootie Dumpling Tablet. This is particularly exciting as we’ve finally managed to blend traditional Scottish tablet with pieces of Clootie dumpling. It’s a sensational taste, 2 great Scottish delicacies combined to create something marvellous.
So remember, if you’re out and about in the coming weeks please do come and say ‘hello’ to us, we’d love to hear from you.
